Carnatic Vocal syllabus
- 1. Learn and perform 4–5 Varnams.
- 2. Learn and perform at least 5 simple Kritis.
- 3. Learn and perform at least 5 Bhajans.
- 4. Develop the ability to sing basic sangatis accurately.
- 5. Demonstrate improved pronunciation and lyrical clarity.
- 6. Develop a stronger understanding of ragam, talam, and composition structure.
- 7. Demonstrate introductory knowledge and application of gamakas.
- 8. Perform the prescribed compositions with appropriate musical expression.
Completion requirement
Development of Kriti Repertoire This level focuses on developing a strong repertoire of Varnams, simpler Carnatic Kritis, and Bhajans while improving musical expression and technical proficiency. Expected outcome: The student develops a well-rounded repertoire and can confidently perform simpler Carnatic Kritis, Varnams, and Bhajans.
